Lesson 11: Making a Difference
Here you are in college. You’re intelligent. You’ve got ambition. And most of all, you would like to make a difference in this world, wouldn’t you? You want to leave this world a better place as a result of your having lived in it.
How can you go about making a difference? Let me tell you about a guy you probably have never even heard of. His name is Peter Drucker. Peter was one of the world’s top business consultants. He advised companies all over the world on how to be successful and to make money. Here’s what is interesting about Peter Drucker. He said that, if we want to make a real difference in this world, we need to stop thinking about what we can “achieve” and start thinking instead about what we can “contribute.” There’s a big difference between the two words.
